On Monday our class went on a field trip to Pioneer Tree Farm's Pumpkin Patch. Everybody loved the bounce houses except for Samuel and Mitchell. Sam and Mitchell both liked the Hay Ride up the mountain and through the woods best. RJ says the little train ride was funny because he saw eyeballs decorating a tree. Cayden like the train whistle. Madison liked the tree maze which had a tunnel. Shay liked the slippery bridge in the maze but Mitchell liked the flat bridge with no railings better. Avery liked eating outside with his friends. Shay used a water pumper to race toy ducks with his friends. We also picked pumpkins from the pumpkin patch and saw some chickens. The K5 kids had an awesome time on their field trip.

I know we need rain but I can't help wishing it would slow down just a bit. I hope everyone gets home safely today!
I apologize for the delay in updating the website. You may have heard that I have not been in the classroom yet this week. I was attending a professional development training for the past few days. I am very anxious to get back to the classroom tomorrow and be with my class. I have been in the building and checking in and was proud to hear the children did a wonderful job with the substitute teacher. It will be an exciting day tomorrow as we have a Fire Prevention program planned. If you haven't already heard, the Pride Dance Party last week was a huge success. The children loved it. I was so glad that all of the children in our room were able to attend. they really earned it with their excellent behavior!
This week we wrap up our Happily Ever After program and I can tell the students are ready for our Superkids Reading Program. Some of the children already know the Superkids through their older siblings and are anxious to learn about them. If you do not have older children in our school, you will soon hear all about your child's new "friends", the Superkids. In Math we will begin Topic 4 on Wednesday. Children will explore the concepts of more and fewer using the numbers 1-10. This Topic can be a bit challenging when children need to compare more than two groups and extra counting practice at home is always a help. The children really enjoyed Art class this week. We discovered that Avery is quite the Art aficionado and he shared a little of what he knows about Van Gogh, Monet and Picasso with the class. |
