We ended our week on a high note today. We toured the Art Show and visited the Chinese Auction. Our class received one free ticket (Thanks PTO!) for the Chinese Auction and were very excited to check out all of the prizes. There were so many good prizes, it was hard for them to choose just one. I hope you are able to come out this weekend to support the PTO and our school. Good Luck!
The children were also very proud to see their artwork on display for the Art Show today. I really hope many of you were able to attend but, just in case you didn't make it, here are two pictures of some wonderful K5 artwork. I am sure your child will be able to find and point out his or her work in the photo. The students were lucky to see a dress rehearsal of the Fourth Grade Show yesterday. They loved it and said it was awesome and great. They really liked all the singing and costumes, A military song and a Hawaiian themed song were favorites in our class. After seeing the 4th graders perform, I think our class is even more excited about their own Kindergarten show on June 2nd!
The children have been working hard as we wrap up our Reading and Math lessons for the year. It was a very exciting day in K5 when the children realized they were working in the very last SuperKids workbook and letter of the year! In Math, the children have been creating a short digital presentation summing up some of what they have learned about shapes. As soon as they are all finished I will share them with you through email.
Over the next two weeks we will finish up our Reading and Math lessons for the year and we will do our end of year testing. We have some special themes, projects and programs planned for the last weeks of school. The children have been working hard at their Kindergarten show practices and I think you will be very impressed with their performance. Remember, our show will now be on June 2nd at 9:30 am in the JSC cafeteria. My Take Your Child to Work Day was a success thanks to your children. My class was on their best behavior and were very kind and helpful to my son Jimmy. He really enjoyed his day in Kindergarten.
