The children really enjoyed the festivities today. We watched a parade, had a halloween sing along, ate a special snack and watched a Scooby Doo movie, and marched in our costumes. We also managed to get a little work done as well, including some practice with our letter Oo. See the photo page for a picture of our jack-o-lantern.

Each unit is centered on a different Super Kid. Check out the What Are We Learning? page for more info next week. Yesterday the K5 kids went to Mrs. Albert's room to meet our Fourth Grade Buddies for this year. Every Day 1 before Library each kindergarten student will get to read his or her book with a fourth grade student. They love visiting the big kids. Today the students put everything they learned about fire safety to good use during our first school-wide fire drill. When the alarms went off, they stayed calm and got away from the building safely.
The students said they had a fun day today and were glad they were able to play our "feed the monkey" letter identification game again. We finished up another reading unit and, hopefully, you have already helped your child empty his or her orange folder. The children recently got new seats and they came up with ideas for new table team names for the month of October. After voting the teams are; Black Cats, Vampires, Skeletons, Monsters. One little boy noted that the Black Cat team got to go first a lot today because they were so quiet. |
